Klimkin decided that Russia is “financing the war” with Ukraine with gas revenues
The Russian Federation uses gas as a source of financing a hybrid war against the civilized world, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This opinion was shared on Facebook by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin following his visit to Germany.
“More and more people in Germany are realizing: buying gas from criminals is an EU trap for itself, and in general it is immoral. We must help the first - those who clearly understand that Russia uses gas not only as a political weapon, but also as a source of financing for its hybrid war against the civilized world,” he wrote.
According to Klimkin, among the Germans there are those who “are afraid of Russia and want to tie it to themselves, and even make money from it.”
“Some even refer to the fact that during the Cold War, Germany bought gas from the USSR, and this contributed to stability in Europe. They are damn mistaken, because even the USSR did not seize the territories of other states, as Russia does today,” Klimkin wrote.
Yesterday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, during a press conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, said that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is impossible without clarity regarding the transit role of Ukraine.
