Klimkin: Russia and Germany are “trying to bend” Ukraine
Unlike the “Young Europeans” who are oriented toward the United States, Germany and other EU countries are not inclined toward confrontation with Russia.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on air on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Klimkin, this is evidenced by the fact that Russia supplies gas to Germany in full.
“Gazprom has eight large storage facilities in Europe. They only upload German ones now.
Given the recent conversations - Merkel only spoke to Putin twice every day - does anyone have any doubt that the Germans and the Russians have agreed on something?
In general, the mood today in the European Union is not to fight with Putin against the backdrop of the fact that he has made an energy stranglehold, but to somehow come to an agreement,” Klimkin said.
The Ukrainian diplomat expressed regret that Germany entered into agreements with Russia without taking into account the interests of Ukraine.
“A simple question - where are we after they really try to “bend” us on the Nord Stream, in these agreements? Should there be agreements about the continuation of the transit contract on normal terms as part of these agreements? I think it’s definitely yes,” Klimkin said.
