Klimkin said about this in an interview with the American television channel Fox News.
Answering the question about what warning he could give to the new US presidential administration regarding Russia and whether it can be trusted, Klimkin replied that Russia cannot be trusted.
“First of all, Russians cannot be trusted. Secondly, all agreements with Russia must be based on a position of strength. Thirdly, we are talking about international law and a clear basis for international relations,” he said.
According to him, in Europe and the United States, Russia uses hybrid warfare methods similar to those used in Ukraine - propaganda, fake news, paid events.
“The Russians are incredibly good at any kind of propaganda,” Klimkin noted.
In turn, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that “any deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin behind Ukraine’s back will only worsen the situation.”
