Klimkin reassures: the EU will not abolish visa-free travel with Ukraine
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin assures that there is no threat of cancellation of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The minister stated this in an interview with the “Breakfast with 1+1” program on Tuesday, January 8.
“With Ukraine, no one has any real problems with visa-free travel. Not with any country. No one ever... not one of the ministers of foreign or internal affairs told me: listen, Pavel, you have a real (problem. - Ed.)," Klimkin noted.
He emphasized that while in European countries there are questions about the actions of criminal gangs from individual countries, there are no such complaints against Ukrainians.
Klimkin noted that Ukrainians generally comply with visa-free requirements, and there are few cases where they remain illegally in Europe after the end of the 90-day period. “We are trying to count, this figure is small,” the minister assured.
Klimkin also noted that the majority of Ukrainian labor migrants do not abuse the visa-free regime to work in Europe, but work there legally.
