Klimkin: Donbass is to blame for the absence of the visa-free regime with the EU promised on Maidan
European Union countries fear additional migration pressure due to the situation in Donbass. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin said this at parliamentary hearings today.

“There are concerns in the EU about the number of people from Donetsk and Lugansk who are traveling from the horrors of terrorism, about additional migration pressure,” the minister noted.
Klimkin assured that the European Commission and the EU have no doubt that Ukraine will carry out the entire block of reforms. “But against the backdrop of migration that has recently occurred, including from the Balkan region, we must prove that we are able to help those who suffered in Donetsk and Lugansk,” he emphasized.
Let us note that the promise of a visa-free regime with the EU was one of the main ones at Maidan.
