Klimkin spoke about the danger of the visa regime with the Russian Federation - “we will spoil the Russians differently”
Ukraine will not introduce a visa regime with the Russian Federation, but intends to tighten the procedure for crossing the border by Russian citizens.
Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated this during the government hour in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
An ATO militant deputy demanded an answer from the Foreign Minister: when will Ukraine introduce a visa regime with the Russian Federation?
In response, Klimkin shared his fears that the visa regime with the Russian Federation threatens countermeasures from Moscow.

“The answer and plan for the future is the decision approved by the Security Council to create an integrated system. I emphasize - not a separate step, as some would like, but a system that provides for the removal of biometric data from foreigners and stateless persons, effective control of movement across the territory of Ukraine and other measures.
This system will be implemented gradually, stage by stage, and the usual introduction of visas will not give us the effect we are striving for. On the contrary, this will create significant problems in the context that Russia will take advantage of these problems to carry out both provocations and a conscious policy of restricting Ukrainian citizens who live in the occupied territory and move to the territory of Ukraine,” Klimkin said.
