Klimkin complains that the situation in the EU is changing not in favor of Ukraine
Ukraine was unable to get the EU to impose sanctions against Russia related to the detention of Ukrainian military sailors in the Sea of Azov last fall who violated the Russian border.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on the Hromadske TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the diplomat, this is due to a change in the positions of individual EU countries towards Russia.
“We really worked on a package of Azov sanctions. Unfortunately, those very powerful things that we wanted, they have not yet come through. They are still in the process of discussion and relate, for example, to restrictions on Russia’s naval activities, they relate to restrictions on the entry of Russian ships that are assigned to the Azov and Black Sea ports and other things.
Some of these things, I really hope, will be implemented at the bilateral level by countries that are traditionally considered our friends. It will be difficult with some... Now you yourself know the atmosphere in the EU, everything is changing, rebooting,” Klimkin said.
