The key witness in the Poroshenko case said in court about a bribe of half a million dollars
A key witness in the corruption cases of Petro Poroshenko, ex-People's Deputy Dmitry Kryuchkov, who was recently extradited to Ukraine, today during a meeting of the Solomensky District Court accused the director of NABU Artem Sytnik of receiving a bribe from the Energoseti Holding Company, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Kiev publication LB.ua reported this from the courtroom.
“Mr. Sytnik actually received half a million dollars from us... for assistance in the investigation,” Kryuchkov said.
He added that a case against Sytnyk for taking a bribe and abuse of power was opened. “It’s ancient, it exists. Does Lutsenko know about him? I think he does,” he said.
In addition, Kryuchkov believes that the case against him was opened on behalf of President Petro Poroshenko. According to him, ex-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin refused to open a case, and specialized anti-corruption prosecutor Nazar Kholodnitsky began a criminal investigation. He called the NABU charges absurd and “a product of the creativity of prosecutors.”
Let us remind you that Kryuchkov was extradited to Ukraine on Monday, April 15. Today the court is choosing a preventive measure for the ex-deputy.
At the end of March, the media published an investigation into corruption in the energy sector. Schemes journalists claim that funds were withdrawn through the Energoset company, among other things, in the interests of Poroshenko’s closest associate, Igor Kononenko.
