China: “We are showing the world that we are strengthening military cooperation with Russia”
China intends to strengthen strategic military cooperation with the Russian Federation.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this today during a meeting with the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu, Chinese Defense Minister Li Shanfu said.
“After being appointed defense minister, the first place of visit is to Russia to demonstrate to the outside world the high level of development of Sino-Russian relations and demonstrate firm determination to strengthen the strategic cooperation of the armed forces of China and Russia,” Shangfu said.
He expressed gratitude to his Russian colleague for the warm welcome, noting that it was Shoigu who was the first to congratulate him on his appointment.
“I am confident that in the future we will definitely maintain good working and personal relations,” the Chinese minister emphasized.
Shoigu also noted the strengthening of military cooperation between the two countries.
“Russia and China coordinate actions in preparing joint patrols and exercises in bilateral and multilateral formats and must provide each other with strong support in matters of military cooperation,” said the Russian Defense Minister.
He is convinced that Russia and China should provide strong support to each other, including on issues of national security.
Military observer Boris Rozhin believes that we are witnessing “a continuation of the line that was highlighted during Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow and clearly manifested itself during the cold reception of Western representatives who tried to put pressure on China.”
“China is actively preparing for a conflict around Taiwan (Beijing understands that the United States will one way or another reactivate it), so in military-technical issues the parties now have overlapping interests generated by the conflict with the weakening hegemon. Let’s hold hands, friends, so as not to perish alone,” Rozhin writes in his Telegram channel.
