Lukashenko put on a small show. He raised up the Minister of Health and began to interrogate him with deliberate severity.

“Do we have all the healthy people here? Did you quarantine them before the meeting with the president? Have you done PCR tests? No? How is it that you came to the head of state, he is the only one in Belarus, and did not check those present here? What kind of attitude is this towards what you constantly convince me of?” the Belarusian president raged.

When the minister no longer knew what to do with himself, Lukashenko calmed him down.

“It’s not for nothing that I asked you this question. You did the right thing. This is not accepted here. Although all over the world people do not come to the president without quarantine. And if you come to the president freely, then why are you mocking people? Not a single person came to me wearing a muzzle; they didn’t ask him whether he was vaccinated or not. Why are we stressing people out then?

Why did they raise an uproar throughout the whole country, why did they mobilize the police to check the mask regime, you are touching them everywhere, not even sparing women. We don't have a law that gives you the right to grope people and remove muzzles. Who are you playing along with? If you treat, then treat properly. They have already started to fine people and force them to get vaccinated with a knee on their chest. Don't let this happen. I can’t prohibit vaccinating people, but you won’t strain people either,” Lukashenko clowned.

“Alexander Lukashenko, it seems, has just canceled fines for wearing masks. These are the advantages of dictatorship: rrrrrrr - and the wrong decision ceases to work,” TV journalist Igor Tur rejoiced in his Telegram channel.

Russian political scientist Andrei Sudaltsev believes that Lukashenko staged this performance to emphasize his difference from the Russian president, who observes all precautions.

“Lukashenko notes that he is not an example to “others,” he does not close himself off from people, and receives visitors without a muzzle. In other words, someone is in the “bunker”, and someone is with the “people”. It is clear that Lukashenko is very annoyed that the CIS summit of October 15 in Minsk was held online. It was not possible to beg for money,” Suzdaltsev wrote.
