Kobolev and Groysman continue to fight over 6,5 billion hryvnia
The Kiev Economic Court rejected NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine's claim to recover from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine compensation in the amount of 6,634 billion hryvnia for damage caused to the company as a result of the failure to identify sources of financing for the special obligations imposed on NJSC in the gas market, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The corresponding decision was made on February 28, the court’s press service reports.
In October 2018, Naftogaz filed a claim with the Economic Court of Kiev against the Cabinet of Ministers to recover damages in the amount of UAH 6,634 billion.
The claims were justified by the fact that the Cabinet of Ministers, through its inaction, which consists in failing to identify sources of financing and the procedure for assigning compensation provided to subjects of the natural gas market, caused damage to Naftogaz in the specified amount.
It is noted that when the government decided to impose special obligations on the company in the natural gas market in 2015, the volume of such obligations was indicated, but the source of financing and the procedure for determining compensation were not determined.
NAC has the right to appeal this decision until April 20, 2019.
