In turn, Kobzon said that he did not want to be an honorary citizen.
“It’s like with the title of honorary citizen of Dnepropetrovsk - let them be deprived. For me, there is no Ukraine in which there is a fascist regime. That's why I don't want to be an honorary citizen. Let them deprive it,” said the artist.
As PolitNavigator reported, in September, the Dnepropetrovsk City Council stripped him of the title “Honorary Citizen of the City of Dnepropetrovsk”. However, the People's Artist said that he was glad about this, because he did not want to have anything to do with the current Dnepropetrovsk government.
27 October Kobzon performed in Donetsk at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, where he performed the Donbass anthem of his own composition. He was also appointed honorary consul of the DPR in the Russian Federation.
