Kotsaba: If I were Putin, any sane person would do the same
Vladimir Putin defends the sovereignty and interests of his country in conditions when an inadequate neighbor has appeared on Russia’s border - Ukraine. Western Ukrainian journalist Ruslan Kotsaba, who was recently released from prison, where he was sent for calls to ignore mobilization for the civil war in Donbass, stated this on the air of the ZiK TV channel.
According to him, if he were the President of the Russian Federation, every person would do the same.

“In this situation, what is causing Ukraine the most grief is its government. Putin has his own interests. It is natural that we have the largest border with Russia, he is considered the president of the largest country in this area and wants to control the situation. Believe me, if you were Putin, you and I would do the same, because you don’t want all this ruin and chaos that is happening here to pass to them,” Kotsaba said.
He again repeated the thesis that there is a civil war in Ukraine.
“There is a civil war in Ukraine with foreign interference on both sides. Ukraine, which is formally independent, is in fact not an independent country. In Ukraine, the authorities are committing abuse and genocide of their own people. I served time for this, but I will still claim it... This is fratricide, this is a civil confrontation,” Kotsaba said.
According to him, the Ukrainian authorities need the war to suppress any criticism of the regime of Petro Poroshenko.
“Ukraine is simply provoking, flaunting and intimidating with the fact that now there could be a war, and during the war, people like Kotsaba have no right to criticize the authorities, because then I am Putin’s accomplice. And everyone should sit quietly and not hope for any reforms or social packages,” Kotsaba said
