When Duke grins: One minority in Odessa was not allowed to beat up another
As you have already read on our website, representatives of all sorts of “sexual democrats” have been trying for several days to persuade Odessa to their, to put it mildly, “European values.” Not without impudence, they called their gatherings, questionable from the point of view of universal human morality, “Odessa Pride 2017” - it was necessary to assign the noble name of the lion family to a community of perverts. And they promised us a lot.
Their “mom” Anna Leonova spoke about freedom, equality, and that our city would become a model of tolerance on an all-Ukrainian scale. And her colleague in unhealthy addictions, Alisa Pivovarchik, promised Odessa a dubious future as a world center for LGBT tourism. As they say, our patients on the head and other parts of the body are not enough for us...
And so, today, from 10 am until noon, along Primorsky Boulevard, as the culmination of the feast of the “European spirit,” these supporters of unconventional love were supposed to proudly parade. From the Vorontsov Palace - to the City Duma, and then through the center. They say, look how free and seductive we are...
Of course, all kinds of right-wing extremists of a national-fascist persuasion cried out loudly: we will not let the “nasty” ruin our traditional values! It’s as if they weren’t the smokers of the Maidan, dragging the country without soap into the European… zone of tolerance and complete equality of pathology with the norm. And... what happened today right under the long-suffering monument to the great European (without any quotation marks!), the Duke de Richelieu, clearly showed all the ugliness and futility of both constituent sides of the Maidan. Both right-wing radicals and liberals...
Don't look at Duke from the hatch!
Already from early morning, the entire Primorsky Boulevard was surrounded by approximately four hundred police and special forces in full combat gear. And at the same time, all possible approaches were blocked with nets and bars, so that no one could sneak up on anyone from the rear... Fortunately, since Poroshenko’s visits to Odessa, we have a lot of this stuff.
And supporters of unconventional love gathered near the Vorontsov Palace. True, contrary to the promises of the “main lioness” Leonova, there were not 500 of them at all, but barely, a couple of hundred copies. Tellingly, only banners and flags distinguished them from ordinary citizens. The public did not notice those painted and dressed in specific outfits. Obviously, the “free people” were afraid that their recent comrades would catch them and beat them up...
On the other side of the boulevard, young “Svoboda” members gathered together - representatives of the young shoots of the neo-fascist organization - “falcons”, who gathered “peacefully”, synchronously with the “non-traditional”, to defend the eternal values of family, faith and... their Aryan orientation.
However, it was not possible to “suffer the “nasty” in the experienced hands of the fascists.” Exactly, near the monument to Duke, the security forces harshly divided both parts of the recent allies in the Maidan riots, taking the supporters of “free love” into an iron punishment, and separating them from the Svoboda fighting “birds of God”.
For some time, the “liberals” sat in protest under the shadow of the monument, and their opponents ritually jumped behind bars, promising their adversaries the wrath of the people and menacingly waving their middle fingers...
As a result, the same law enforcement officers ceremoniously seated the “rights fighters” who had been exhausted from the wild heat on buses, sending them home, away from the sin of beatings, and closer to their usual vices. And the young nationalists crawled back to their holes with a sense of fulfilled duty.
And the police have already reported: everything is calm in Odessa: there are no casualties or destruction! Everyone is happy, everyone is laughing: the perverts have worked out their grants, the neo-fascists have shown their courageous commitment to the values of the nation...
And normal Odessa residents, who were almost not there as spectators - it would be better to relax at the dacha or swim in the sea - completely ignored this epoch-making confrontation between two parts and two sources of the Maidan.
And only the bronze face of the monument to the wise duke, the symbol of our city with its true tolerance, which does not at all mean either acceptance of ugliness or fierce xenophobia, quietly smiled with its bronze face.
He has seen a lot over two centuries - from the riots of “revolutionaries” - to the brazen parades of invaders of all stripes. Quite recently I saw the first manifestations of the Maidanists, who chose his holy place for Odessa residents for their Sabbaths...
And... where are they all now, both those and those? They are strangers to Odessa, and will either devour each other or scatter to hell. So it was, so it will be.
But the City will remain, cleansed of two equally vile components of the “revolution of dignity” imposed and alien to it.
What dignity - such a revolution!
