Ukrainians consume five times more heat than Europeans, and the only thermostat in their apartments is the window. Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko announced this on the NewOne TV channel.

“The average Ukrainian requires five times more energy than the average European. We have thermostats like in Soviet times - in Europe they put five thermostats per battery, but our thermostat is a window: it gets cold - they open it, it gets hot - they open it. And the batteries work without control,” Klitschko said
