When will mass arrests of Poroshenko’s entourage begin?
The detention of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his entourage is hampered by the fact that his godfather, the country's Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, is in power. Former Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, lawyer Andrei Portnov stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the lawyer, the ring around Poroshenko’s retinue is narrowing and as soon as Lutsenko loses his position, mass detentions will begin.
“I don’t see judges blocking investigators’ requests. As far as I know, the courts have now given 100% sanctions against Poroshenko. In my opinion, Poroshenko has not won a single issue yet. It all wraps around on all sides, narrows.
At a certain point, as soon as the guarantees that the current Prosecutor General gave him disappear, this whole avalanche will go in geometric progression. She will start catching everyone everywhere in different places.
Our task is to prepare petitions and statements so that mass detentions can begin immediately, if the Prosecutor General changes,” Portnov said.
