Governor of Transcarpathia Gennady Moskal stated this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Correspondent”.
“I don’t watch Russian channels because they were turned off here, and I don’t watch Ukrainian channels because they show nonsense,” says Moskal. – I am especially amused by stories about how we have our own republic here and separatism is flourishing. They don’t even try to justify this nonsense.”
“When we come to the European Union, we will have to pass a law on restitution - the return of property and labor rights to their rightful owners, who were taken away by the Soviet Union,” the governor admits. – The Czechs and Slovaks will come and say – give up our property, and we will be forced to give it back... 80% of police departments in Romania returned them to their rightful owners when the country joined the European Union. Everyone is happy with the current state of things. For example, now Transcarpathians can freely cross the border... That is, the current situation allows Transcarpathians to feel like free people, and therefore separatism is not for us.”
