On June 5, a presentation of the horror book “People of the Gray Zone” took place in Kyiv, telling about “Russia’s annexation of Crimea” and “terror perpetrated by the occupiers” throughout the peninsula.

A Ukrainian-language booklet in 1000 copies, designed to outshine the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Lovecraft and Gogol’s “Viy” combined, was presented by the authors - two volunteer journalists who collected crypto-folklore of “victims of mass repressions”, Andrievskaya and Khalimon. Moreover, Khalimon is an employee of Vyatrovich’s mental hospital under the guise of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance (UINR). “One of the most important conclusions of this book is that the annexation of Crimea was being prepared, it was a Russian military operation. Answering uninteresting and shallow questions from journalists who accepted the rules of the game, the “creative team” informed those present that the entire astronomical circulation of “People of the Gray Zone” was released at taxpayer expense, it would be received free of charge by Ukrainian libraries that had been cleared of Russian literature, and in the virtual “permanent mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, employees are choking in lines to get hold of a copy.
