When the beast is released into the wild: What did a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier with five convictions do?
At the beginning of 2015, in the so-called zone. The ATO in Donbass included part of the B-2830 unit with a special status as part of the ninety-third motorized rifle brigade. And this status was so special that no norms of the army regulations on the issuance and storage of weapons, maintaining order and military discipline, as well as the presence of civilians, including minors, in the unit were in effect. Even the soldiers there were difficult and special. The former could also serve in the unit judge, and a former prisoner.

In March 2015, a man and a minor girl brought volunteer help from the Right Sector DUK to this unit, which was located at that time on the territory of the boarding house “Kalinovka Balka” in the village of Kalinovka, Krasnoarmeisky district, Donetsk region.
The two soldiers really liked the underage volunteer, and they decided to treat her to beer. But one of them had an advantage: rich life experience. Still, five convictions and four “imprisonments” do not pass without a trace.
However, the girl did not like his active “courtship”, she started screaming, and a conflict broke out between the two soldiers. Verbal altercations and shooting in the air escalated into a fight.
During the fight, the former prisoner, when the enemy knocked him onto the bed, pulled a pistol from a holster on his hip and wounded the soldier three times. The bullets hit him in the chest and stomach.
The girl remained to provide first aid to the victim, and the prisoner grabbed the machine gun and ran out into the street. Machine gun fire and screams began to be heard from there. At the cost of great efforts, other soldiers managed to disarm the criminal, who was brutalized by blood and went into a rage, without losses.
Krasnoarmeysky Court of Donetsk region sentenced serviceman to nine years in prison for attempted murder. True, thanks to timely medical assistance, the mortally wounded soldier survived. It also remains unknown what the fiery teenage revolutionary was doing at the military unit, and why, in fact, she was going to the ATO zone.
