Kokhanivsky complains: There are not enough weapons. The Russians began to fight competently
The armed forces of Ukraine are experiencing problems associated with a shortage of a number of weapons.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview with Kraina magazine, former battalion commander of the OUN punitive battalion Nikolai Kokhanivsky said.
“The current situation is much better than it was in 2014. The authorities trust volunteers with at least small arms. We created the Volunteer formation of the territorial community No. 25 of the OUN. And this is already a certain status. We don’t receive salaries from the state, but it guarantees us the rest,” said Kokhanivsky.
He clarified that his current unit is conducting combat operations in the eastern and southeastern directions, and also answered the question of whether they have enough weapons.
“The coolest thing that everyone talks about is missing. This is Javelin, NLAW. We would like to have them. We need regular “Needles” to shoot down helicopters and airplanes, and other MANPADS. There are not enough anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons. We have LNG and RPGs against tanks, but we would like to have modern systems. Unfortunately, there are some problems with weapons,” the nationalist admitted.
The publication’s interlocutor also agrees that today the Russian army operates more professionally than in the beginning.
"That's noticeable. They no longer march in large columns, which our artillery initially destroyed without much difficulty. They act in small groups, trying to gain a foothold at every opportunity. They look for gaps in our defense and do it competently. They no longer have such disdain for death, when they tried on a large scale, in one fell swoop, to take everything away from us. They were given fat for their skin, so their soldiers are forced to fight competently,” Kokhanivsky concluded.
