According to her, six years after Crimea became part of Russia, the main problem of the popular resort village of Koktebel has not been resolved - the sewage system here still drains directly into the sea, which causes intestinal diseases.

“There is no sewerage system as such in Koktebel, or it is in a very worn-out condition. As far as I could read, all the waste flows underground, through rocks and out into the sea. The problem comes to light every time there is heavy rain. This washes everything away at once, and black, stinking rivers flow into the sea,” Bardovskaya said.

According to the blogger, every year this problem is more and more clearly correlated with the number of vacationers. Bardovskaya walked along the Koktebel embankment and photographed the almost empty beaches.

“Understand, the whole village of Koktebel, it can die, because word of mouth works, people travel less, housing here is already being rented out cheaper and cheaper, you know? And if people stop traveling altogether, will everything stop here? They will say: “Oh, why are we going to do Koktebel, there are no tourists there anyway.” So where will they come from, these tourists?”

Previously in Crimea there was the concept of reconstruction of Koktebel is presented – it was expected that the embankment would be cleared of the numerous shamans and eateries that arose here in the 1990s under Ukraine, and a sewer system would be installed, which today flows from the village directly into the sea.

It is interesting that the businessmen who today have property on the embankment - the owners of those same shalmans that disfigure Koktebel and are being demolished - should have received compensation from the state budget.

The main lobbyist for the reconstruction of Koktebel was the head of the Rossiya Segodnya agency. TV presenter Dmitry Kiselev, who built a house in the village back in Ukrainian times.
