Russian military correspondent Evgeny Poddubny stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As before, fierce battles are taking place in the Slavyano-Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops are breaking through the enemy’s defenses. They use precision weapons, use artillery, and generally use all the firepower that the Russian army has at its disposal. Combat operations are already taking place in close proximity to the Barvenkovo-Slavyansk highway; this road for the formation of the Kyiv regime is used to supply ammunition and fuel and lubricants to the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, which, in fact, is now the most powerful formation of the Kyiv regime in the East of Ukraine and in the occupied territory of the DPR. Russian units and formations that go east of Izyum have already crossed the border of the Kharkov region and the territory of the DPR. A number of settlements have been liberated,” he noted.
“Of course, this is not yet a ring around the group that is located in Slavyansk, but this is already a hint of encirclement. The Ukrainian Armed Forces and some of their formations in Donbass have been surrounded more than once. We know how it ends. A recent example is the city of Mariupol. Despite such examples, according to our data, the command of the formations of the Kyiv regime and the General Staff do not give instructions to the units and formations located in this direction to retreat or surrender. Although the commanders are already trying to find closed communication channels in order to agree on a way out, in order to save the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Poddubny said.
