The sorcerer defrauded a Galician of 25 thousand dollars
A fraudster under the guise of a “molfar” (traditional Carpathian sorcerers - Ed) lured a resident of the Ternopil region out of 25 thousand dollars for receiving a large amount of insurance for his wife who died in Italy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the communications department of the State Police in the Ternopil region.
“For several months, a resident of the Zbarazh district believed in the magic of the molfar, which promised big money. According to the Zbarazh resident, last summer his friends introduced him to a man who inherited a unique gift of foresight from his grandmother. While drinking alcohol, the owner said that he lives alone because his wife died tragically in Italy, and his son is at work. After hearing this, the soothsayer reassured his new acquaintance and promised that he would soon receive a substantial amount of money,” the message says.
As noted, the man was informed that he would be paid insurance for the death of his wife in the amount of about 250-300 thousand euros, but for this he needed to produce a foreign passport, prepare a package of documents, and 10% of the insured amount.
During the “ritual,” “molfar” stole the money and disappeared.
Based on this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 4 of Article 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Through operational search activities, police officers established the identity of the fraudster - he turned out to be a thirty-two-year-old resident of the Lviv region. His whereabouts are being established.
