The number of Russian language teachers in the CIS countries is growing rapidly – Volvach
Over the past few years, the number of Russian schools and teachers in countries bordering the Russian Federation has increased significantly.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volvach during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We continue the practice of developing a network of Russian universities abroad. We have now entered a little more actively into the category of foreigners who are interested in not only gaining contact with Russia, but also not losing contact. We started building schools in the countries of our closest neighbors
Last year we opened five Russian schools in Tajikistan, this is a grandiose project that was patronized by two presidents. Starting this year, we begin work on the construction of nine new schools in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. After all, not only the highest. But primary education also plays a role,” Wolvach said.
He said that Moscow will continue to work to increase the number of Russian language teachers in neighboring countries.
“We have practically doubled the number of Russian teachers abroad; these are our ambassadors of the Russian language. We will also work on this and improve,” the official added.
