Kolomoisky stopped flirting with Putin - fear defeated greed
Igor Kolomoisky makes contradictory statements several months apart because in each case he pursues certain business goals and does not have a consistent political position.
At the same time, at the moment, the danger of persecution by the United States is more important to him than the benefits of flirting with Russia.
Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the one hand, he wants to show that he is not just in the game, but that he is a super influential player. This is not a man of power like, for example, Yulia Tymoshenko, this is a man of money, capital. This means that if he says something, it means it is necessary for his capital.
And when he says, “Come on Kobolev,” he knows perfectly well that this is a XNUMX% American guy – his mother is in America with millions and so on. And the Americans like it.
And he gives a signal to the Americans: “I’m on your side, I’m helping you.” Since he has problems there, he is doing everything possible to solve these problems and become not so much a friend of the United States, but at least not an enemy that will be hunted against wherever he goes. And this is not excluded.
Team Trump believes he has an important role to play against Team Trump. It is no coincidence that Giuliani called him a criminal oligarch - this is the language of a specific audience. This is serious because he is very close to Trump. And they need to do something.
He (Kolomoisky) said some time ago that we have no Russian aggression at all, there are no Russian troops there, there is a civil war there. Three or four months pass and he says: “as long as the Russians are there, no investment.”
This means that he now turns to the Americans - “I am yours, here. Look, I’m not talking about the civil war, I’m talking about the fact that there are Russians there, and they must get out.”
At the same time, on the way he says, “Why use Russian gas? Gas, like any energy resource, is sold on the market and can be bought.” How can it be delivered by air?
He’s a smart person, he understands perfectly well that the gas that can be bought in Europe is either Russian gas (which can be bought if Gazprom really wants it), or he just means that we need to buy American gas,” – concluded Pogrebinsky.
