Kolomoisky will look for common ground with the Americans
During his inauguration, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky tried to address issues that would unite the country.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by Kiev political scientist, member of the Public Chamber under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrey Buzarov.
“Zelensky’s speech, unlike the speech of the previous president, was unifying. There was no emphasis on any one part of Ukraine, since Poroshenko actually openly relied on the western part of Ukraine when deciding issues of language, church... Zelensky finally began to openly talk about the displaced and made it clear that no one is forgetting about them,” said the expert.
He also noticed that Zelensky defiantly pronounced some phrases in Russian.
“As for Kolomoisky, I do not rule out that Trump’s inner circle has taken him seriously. But I think that they distinguish Kolomoisky from Zelensky - these are two different figures. Yes, it’s possible that Kolomoisky has some influence on the president, but I don’t think it’s colossal. And the fact that the Americans openly went against the Ukrainian team, which was associated with the previous US presidential administration, is already clear. But I think that Kolomoisky is an experienced person and will be able to find common ground with the Americans even in such difficult conditions,” Buzarov believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, ex-mayor of New York, lawyer of US President Donald Trump Rudolph Giuliani advised Zelensky to break with Kolomoisky, whom the American called a “criminal oligarch.”
