Kolomoisky - “La-la-la”: The oligarch is closing the football club - there is no longer enough money for sports show-offs
Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky decided to disband the Dnepr football club that belongs to him. In 1983 this team was the champion of the USSR.

The website of Dnepr fans reports that the businessman does not want to invest anymore in the development of the team, and now the club’s functionaries are looking for sponsors among other well-known businessmen in the city.
“Our Dnieper is everything. Nobody will pay anything, the team ceases to exist. At the same time, the Dnepr Arena will not necessarily be empty: options are being considered for relocating another team related to the Privat system to the city: either Volyn, or Neftyanik, or even organizing a new club,” the message says.
Kiev political scientist Nikolai Spiridonov believes that Kolomoisky is reducing spending on sports in the context of the worsening economic situation in Ukraine: “I welcome Igor Kolomoisky’s decision to close the club. In a country where, according to the UN, 80% of the population is below the poverty line, running a sports club with a multi-million dollar budget is somehow not comme il faut.”
The closure of Dnepr may be a common commercial practice for Kolomoisky, who, therefore, simply decided not to repay his debts, just as he had previously done with negative business projects.
