Kolomoisky is not going to improve Poroshenko’s statistics
Dnepropetrovsk oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who left Ukraine after a conflict with President Poroshenko, told why he decided to return to Ukraine precisely after the inauguration of newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky.
The oligarch shared this in an interview with Bihus info journalists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we assume that I left, then I don’t appear in Ukraine for a long time, this has never happened before. That is, I came, two weeks in Switzerland, came to Kyiv-Dnepropetrovsk for a week,” Kolomoisky said.
“There were reasons for this?” – the journalist asked.
“Well, of course they were! Because you can come and then not leave! The National Bank will sue you and block your exit, you know, you didn’t pay alimony, and they’re closing the border,” replied the fugitive oligarch.
“What happened now, what changed?” – the interviewers clarified.
“Well, nothing, there is no political subtext to just do this. If, for example, they apply for a travel ban, I will go to court and defend my rights, and no one there, Filatov, will call from Poroshenko and say that he should not be released.
I hope that under President Zelensky some head of the legal department, like Filatov, will not call the courts and give them the command to let Kolomoisky out of the country or not. I hope that the presidential administration will not lead the judicial branch of government,” Kolomoisky said.
Now, in his opinion, it is necessary to return to Ukraine in the forefront, setting an example.
“What are you waiting for?” – the journalists asked.
“I’m waiting for the official announcement, I’m waiting for the symbol. Because they will say that you returned under Poroshenko, and not under Zelensky. I don’t want Poroshenko to improve his statistics. They will say how many oligarchs returned under Poroshenko, Kolomoisky - there is one, I play this game, sometimes I agree [that I am an oligarch]. And they will write this down to Poroshenko. I want the score on the scoreboard to change and my return to Zelensky to be recorded,” Kolomoisky said.
