Kolomoisky accused Ukraine of non-compliance with the Minsk agreements
Only after elections are held in the DPR and LPR should Ukraine gain control abroad.
Dnepropetrovsk oligarch, ex-head of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration Igor Kolomoisky, who previously actively participated in the suppression of the Russian Spring and the creation of Ukrainian volunteer battalions, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “New Time”.
“Nobody is interested in the conflict in Donbass at all. There are recent developments. But what happened under Poroshenko is absolutely ridiculous. Five years or four years - we have not advanced anywhere. When were these agreements made? February 2015? And before that we were in September 2014. The maneuver war is over, thank God, we dug in, and everyone is sitting and looking at each other. Where have we moved? Nowhere,” Kolomoisky said.
At the same time, the publication’s journalist stated that the Minsk agreements are not being implemented through the fault of Russia.
“Why don’t we implement the Minsk agreements? Why don't we hold elections there? It’s written there in black and white...”, the oligarch noted in turn.
He also offered to show the publication’s employee what was written in the Minsk agreements.
“Conducting elections. What was Petka [Poroshenko] yelling about?” Kolomoisky asked.
The journalist did not give up, saying that elections should be held only after the withdrawal of troops.
“Just a minute. He [Poroshenko] signed the Minsk agreements. This is an international document. What did he sign there? That he holds elections, and after that, the next day, the withdrawal of troops begins, the transfer of border control. The transfer of border control means the withdrawal of Russian troops.
Ukraine cannot control the Ukrainian border, and Russian troops will be stationed inside. Consequently, he signed that elections would be held and the transfer of control of the border would never end. Although there are deadlines. Therefore, I have a question: do we want the Minsk agreements to be implemented? Or we want to promote ourselves on this and earn money, do business,” Kolomoisky said.
