Kolomoisky sees a civil conflict in Donbass, not a war with Russia
The conflict in Donbass is a local civil confrontation, not a war.
The fugitive oligarch, ex-governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region Igor Kolomoisky stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the one hand, citizens of Ukraine, on the other hand, citizens of Ukraine. And the Russians are heating things up from the other side. In Donbass, there are probably all sorts of advisers, maybe there are regular units, repainted as something. But that doesn't matter. There were also Soviet troops in Spain as volunteers. International brigades. But this was a civil war. I can't say civil war, I will say civil conflict. Which, by the way, does not extend beyond the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Did you notice this? When there was a war in Spain, the whole country was on fire, so I can’t call it a war. But a local civil conflict, yes,” Kolomoisky said.
At the same time, he assured that the Donbass republics would not be free to float for long and announced the return of lost territories.
“Moreover, Donbass is coming in the near future, and Crimea – we need to be patient a little bit. The near future is a maximum of five years,” says the oligarch.
