When Ukrainian sanctions were introduced against Russian airlines, it was clear that retaliatory sanctions would not be long in coming, and the main blow would be taken by the structures of Denpropetrovsk oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, writes the Kiev magazine “New Time”.

The publication quotes the words of Ukrainian political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who believes that Kiev’s belated decision to impose sanctions against Russia is due to the slowness of the Ukrainian state machine, while another expert, Taras Berezovets, is convinced that the matter was not without Western pressure on Ukraine.
“In addition, according to both political scientists, sanctions are a way to put pressure on Kolomoisky,” the magazine adds. – After all, from the very beginning, when Ukraine introduced sanctions against Aeroflot, it was clear: retaliatory sanctions were only a matter of time. And UIA and Dniproavia will take the biggest blow. This, they say, was the answer to Kolomoisky for the creation and financing of opposition political forces.”
