Kolomoisky was impeached and handed over to the FBI
In Kyiv, activists of the Democratic Sokyra party held a protest rally near the Office of President Vladimir Zelensky demanding that oligarch Igor Kolomoisky be deprived of Ukrainian citizenship.
Up to a hundred protesters gathered under the residence, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
People came out with posters “Igor is burning”, “Let’s shaggy grandma”, “New talk show “Changing Benya”, “Vova, take grandma’s passport”, “Grandma to her homeland” and “FBI + Benya - let’s help them meet.”
One of the founders of the party, Yuriy Gudimenko, said that protesters passed information about Kolomoisky’s citizenship of other countries to the State Migration Service.
“Do you like that the president of Ukraine is called Kolomoisky? Do you like that the houses of people who carried out reforms are set on fire? Do you like that a person for whom no one voted, who violates the legislation of Ukraine, who has three passports, remains unpunished?” - Gudimenko shouted to the crowd, who shouted at every question: “No!”
In addition, the protesters demanded that the President of Ukraine take the case under personal control and ensure that the process of reviewing the document by the migration service does not drag on.
“The presence (Kolomoisky - ed.) in the presidential office is not a small thing, it is a very big problem. If he goes there, this confirms that he can come to any businessman, to any official and say: either you solve my problems, or you give me money, or you’re screwed,” Sokira leader Igor Shchedrin addressed the protesters.
“There are too many Kolomoiskys, we need to not just take away his passport, this is just for starters. We need to take Kolomoisky out of the country in a macro sense!” - the speaker called.
Next, an inflatable “Kolomoisky” with balloons was brought onto an improvised stage, which was released into the Kiev sky amid laughter and hoots.
However, the performance gained momentum, the flying “Benya” was lowered to the ground by a rope and handed over to people who suddenly appeared dressed as movie FBI agents. One of them introduced himself as Taras and happily posed for journalists.
After the performance with the arrest, those gathered shouted “Impeachment, impeachment!” and went their separate ways. Several police officers, without interfering, observed the action, which passed without incident.
