Colonial democracy turned out to be not what was promised on the Maidan
The American Ulyana Suprun, who headed the Ministry of Health of Ukraine after the victory of Euromaidan, did not eradicate the department’s problems - on the contrary, corruption schemes flourished, and the impoverished ordinary population lost access to quality medicine.
Businessman and TV presenter Andrei Palchevsky said this in the studio of the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We expected from the American specialist that we would have new rules of the game. That the old mafia will be removed and a model of insurance medicine similar to the Western one will be proposed,” the speaker recalled, noting that instead, medical expenses per person were provided at a meager 370 UAH per person per year.
“Now imagine your mother walking (to the hospital - ed.) twice, or even three, or four, and each trip is approximately equal, relatively speaking, to one bun. Do you understand? What can be done? Why these humiliating numbers? Why are you fooling us, for 370 UAH. nothing can be done, believe me,” Palchevsky said.
“The worst thing will begin after the elections, namely, when Suprun declares that MRI and CT scans will now be paid for, ask me, I know that one trip and your annual budget turns into nothing! Therefore, all the beautiful numbers are, excuse me, for losers, as Yanukovych says.
She is always given credit for “defeating the pharmaceutical mafia.” I have a question, have you felt that medicines have become cheaper? No! Suprun was written out as a “false panel” so that a group of other “businessmen” from medicine would redirect all these billion-dollar flows into their pockets, and nothing more,” the speaker concluded.
Thank you!
