It is noteworthy that this happened on the eve of February 23, when Russia celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day, as part of the campaign... “Protect the memory of heroes.”

“As part of the “Protect the Memory of Heroes” campaign. On February 22, the Young Guard, together with the Youth Chamber and the Russian Youth Union, honored the memory of prisoners of war buried in the cemetery of the village of Mostostroy, and the Soviet military man - [Hero of the Soviet Union] Anatoly Mikhailovich Puzikov. Let’s honor history together and remember that “the war is only over when the last soldier is buried,” activists reported on social networks.

Flowers were laid at the monument to the soldiers of Horthy Hungary who died in Soviet captivity, who fought together with Nazi Germany against the USSR.

In Orsk there was a prisoner of war camp No. 260, where prisoners of war were kept. The dead were buried in mass graves; in the 2000s, their descendants came to Orsk and installed tombstones at the mass grave sites.

When a loud scandal broke out, the activists immediately demolished the recording, and then began to make excuses - they supposedly thought that Hungary fought on the side of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War, as stated by the head of the Orenburg regional branch of the organization, Mikhail Kuznetsov.

“For the Orsk local branch of MGER, we will organize additional lectures dedicated to the allies and opponents of the USSR in World War II. Once again we offer our deepest apologies for the unintentional mistake,” Kuznetsov said.

However, not everyone believed the version presented by the Mherovites.

“The Ory “activists” were not embarrassed that “Hungarian allies of the USSR” died in a prisoner of war camp. It looks like when they realized that they couldn’t get away with it, they decided to simply pretend to be uneducated morons,” believes the famous Sevastopol blogger Boris Rozhin.

Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, a Russian schoolboy from Novy Urengoy spoke in the German Bundestag, where he spoke about the “so-called Stalingrad cauldron” and lamented the plight of Nazi soldiers who were captured (see. Forgive us, Gestapo, and Wehrmacht, forgive us).
