The past local elections showed that there is no democracy in Ukraine, and a totalitarian regime is being formed in the country.

Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Opposition bloc Evgeniy Muraev stated this in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent, commenting on the course of the election campaign in Dnepropetrovsk, where on November 15, the first-place representative of the OP, Alexander Vilkul, who took first place, will compete for the position of mayor in Dnepropetrovsk, ahead of Boris Filatov, a protege of the Dnepropetrovsk oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.

“The elections throughout Ukraine took place absolutely unprecedentedly, brazenly, cynically on the part of the authorities,” the politician is sure. – It became absolutely clear that there is no democracy in the country, a totalitarian regime is being formed. The authorities go to all possible lengths in order to be able to falsify elections: from the adoption of a law to the course of the campaign itself and recount mechanisms. This is all very similar to raider tactics, especially in Dnepropetrovsk, where they tried to consolidate falsified results with court decisions.”

It is worth noting that in this case there was a more than transparent allusion to representatives of Igor Kolomoisky’s team, in particular to Gennady Korban, who openly admitted his involvement in raiding.

“I think that the second round will be even tougher and more difficult,” the people’s deputy predicts. -* I am sure that any insinuations and difficulties with counting votes and defending the results are possible. But we are ready for this and will be able to protect the interests of our voters.”

According to Evgeniy Muraev, today the entire Dnepropetrovsk region has become a continuous “hot spot”.

“This is a fulcrum for a certain clan that exists in our country,” the politician clarified. – Of course, a lot has been said by the pseudo-democratic authorities that they will pursue their own interests in these elections, which have nothing to do with the interests of our voters. What is most alarming is how this election will be perceived by the world community. Although the very legitimacy of the government has been in serious doubt over the past year and a half. And if she stoops to such methods in local elections, I think this will greatly undermine the faith of our European and other neighbors in our country as a democratic state.”
