Team Ze miserably failed the “hype blitzkrieg”
Vladimir Zelensky failed to implement his blitzkrieg plan to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada and hold early elections according to new rules that would ensure that the “green” faction received such a number of deputies that would guarantee sole decision-making by the presidential force.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik spoke about this on the Topinform channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Based on what the participants in these negotiations told me (Zelensky’s meeting with the leaders of parliamentary factions, - ed.), then there was no strong agreement between the president and the leaders of parliamentary factions. The leaders of parliamentary factions supported lowering the barrier and said that yes, it’s interesting, we will think about the majority vote. There were no blood oaths that one hundred percent, I promise, tomorrow we will vote for the abolition of the majority system, this did not happen,” Bortnik said.
“Zelensky’s team tried to carry out a blitzkrieg in parliament, and it all ended the way the blitzkrieg ended in 1945 - defeat. 92 votes is a rout. They tried to capitalize on this hype, including due to their lack of experience in political processes, to jump in and promote what they needed,” the expert explained the reason for the failure of Zelensky’s plan.
