Reuters writes: "U.S. Army Europe commander Ben Hodges said on Wednesday that the U.S. Army will train Ukrainian troops fighting separatists in the country's east."
Training missions will begin in March. One US Army battalion will undergo training along with three Ukrainian battalions. This was stated by Ben Hodges during a visit to the NATO base in Szczecin in northwestern Poland.
Hodges states the purpose of the exercise directly: “We will train them in combat security, medical skills, how to work in conditions where the Russians jam the communications and how to protect themselves from Russian and insurgent artillery.” Thus, the commander-in-chief of American forces in Europe did not hesitate to announce the preparation of Ukrainian military detachments directed against Russia.
