Azov commander admitted to war crimes on TV
Sergei Korotkikh, intelligence commander of the Azov regiment, admitted to war crimes committed by Ukrainian militants in the Donbass.
Korotkikh started an argument on Savik Shuster’s talk show with a Ukrainian journalist who insisted that many of the ATO participants were breaking the law.

“Your understanding of the front and mine are somewhat different. You come there so that you have something to write, take a beautiful selfie, and get a share of PR.
You are talking about some kind of criminal. In your liberal environment there is such a concept as “people with criminal thinking.” Sometimes these are people with a heightened sense of justice.
And when the conflict of ’14 came, many people who could not find themselves in ordinary life ended up at the front. Once upon a time, one of them was in some gangs, on trial, somewhere someone beat someone, perhaps even shot someone, took them to the forest and buried them. But it was there at the front that these 2% gave 95% of the result,” said the “Azovite.”
He also commented on the accusations regarding the illegal confiscation of cars from Donbass residents.
“Yes, at least a thousand cars taken away. The car was not simply taken away from some collective farmer. As a rule, the car was taken away after something was found in it - weapons, DPR literature,” Korotkikh said.
“I can say that in the American army there is such a thing as a souvenir trophy,” the militant also added.
“Mariupol, for which Poroshenko is handing out medals, I will reveal a terrible secret: in the assault on Mariupol there were only 2 people from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Of the 200 people, only two more had the status of cops, and the remaining 196 were people without status. They killed Ukrainian citizens according to the law and had weapons illegally. Let’s put everyone in jail,” Korotkikh said.
