“We, the military, fight, risk our lives, bury our friends... We fight for the future of our children.
... I understand that military victories alone are not enough to organize the life of the state. We need to think about the people who remained in the rear. In the primaries we will be able to see the will of the people...
Primaries are needed so that people can decide who they want to see in power. In addition, this is preparation for the elections. If any shortcomings are discovered during the primaries, we will eliminate them, and they will not be repeated in the elections.
Also, importantly, holding primaries is a political step, with its help we will shake up the Ukrainian government. We will show her that, regardless of her mood, and despite the shelling from the Ukrainian side, we will still hold our elections,” the deputy said.
Zavdoveev supported the introduction of a 5-year residency requirement for participants in the primaries in the DPR.
“Who will root for their cause? Anyone who lived here and felt all the hardships of 2014 and 2015. A visitor who has a family there, but nothing holds him here, can steal and “flee” to his previous place of residence in some region of Ukraine. And it will be very difficult to bring such a person to justice. At least until we liberate all of Ukraine from the Nazis.
And the local resident has nowhere to run. He has a home and family here. This is his native land. Such a person is interested in working for the benefit of the Donetsk People's Republic. And if he “does something”, he will be held accountable according to the law,” the battalion commander concluded.
