Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine: they want to pave the road to victory with our bones
Kyiv, August 25 (Navigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) – The war in eastern Ukraine is being waged without any sense, concept of tactics and planning. The war is being waged for the sake of information about the capture of populated areas. They want to pave the way to victory with the bones of the units, said the commander of the 5th company of the Dnepr-1 battalion, Vladimir Shilov, on Hromadske TV.

“There are increasingly rumors of betrayal on the front line. And I will honestly say that I do not understand the meaning of this war. The war is being waged incorrectly - they are simply creating informational reasons for receiving medals for capturing populated areas, which are then immediately handed over,” says Shilov.
According to the commander, his squad is performing unacceptable tasks without the necessary equipment. Pointless orders are given, which causes friction.
“Our company was sent to defend the village of Peski. I have a question for the Minister of Defense - why don’t we have a single heavy machine gun? Recently, the Kyiv-2 formation, armed only with light weapons, went to the ATO zone. According to my information, 24 thousand heavy machine guns are stored in Shapitovka, but we are not receiving them, although the application has been with the ministry for more than a month.
In May, Avakov said that we do not need heavy weapons, because we must go to the second echelons - enter the liberated city and clear it. But we are carrying out some other tasks - we were sent to Sands to hold out for a day, and in the meantime the army set up a checkpoint. In the morning there was no checkpoint, and we decided to dig in. Three days later the order came to withdraw. I was indignant and said that we would not go anywhere. They called me from the General Staff and said that if I did not follow the order, they would receive an order to withdraw the armored vehicles. I told him that in this case I would give the command to the grenade launchers, and they would take off the armored vehicles - there would be stationary firing points,” says Vladimir Shilov.
