The commander told how the Russian army is suffering from the use of American GPS
Due to its high accuracy, the American Haymars MLRS delivered to Ukraine have become a serious problem for the Russian Armed Forces.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said the commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, answering the question of what enemy weapons cause the most trouble.
“Anything that surpasses us in range and accuracy. The 155 NATO caliber allows us to choose positions at a distance where we cannot reach it. GPS-controlled Highmars, with their limited high-explosive power, are highly accurate. And they deliver significant blows.
Practice shows: if “Hymars” hit headquarters or communication centers in the basements of houses, they hit one point, over and over again, until they destroy the shelter,” Khodakovsky said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
At the same time, he added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a limited number of Highmars and charges for them, and therefore they use them selectively.
“And the most unpleasant thing is that some of our high-precision projectiles are controlled using the same American GPS. It is difficult to fight an enemy who holds the key to our victory. I wouldn’t be surprised if they shift the target coordinates for us,” says the commander.
In turn, the publication’s journalist noted that he has repeatedly gone on hikes with GPS trackers and knows that “everything there is shifted about 15 meters from its true position” in order to “prevent its use for military purposes.”
“So it turns out that our high-precision weapons are used as area weapons. It’s just that when it was developed, the GLONASS system did not yet exist. Now we are reaping it,” Khodakovsky concluded.
