Commanders abandon Ukrainian soldiers to their fate - militias
Donetsk, July 17 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Information is being spread on social networks that the Ukrainian military, trapped by militias near Izvarino, are being abandoned by their commanders.

“As our intelligence learned, the Ukrainian commander of the 24th separate mechanized Samara-Ulyanovsk, Berdichev, Order of the October Revolution, three times Red Banner, Order of Suvorov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky Iron Brigade, Colonel Alexander Pavlyuk, fled from the Izvarin cauldron, abandoning the brigade entrusted to him to the mercy of fate. The brigade has actually disintegrated and now does not represent an organized fighting force,” says a message posted on the page of DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov.
“Some of its soldiers surrender to the militias, and some have the audacity to run across the Russian border and ask the “evil Muscovites” for asylum and medical assistance,” the report notes.
In addition, information appeared in the media that during the fierce battles near Izvarino, more than 200 military personnel were killed. The 72nd mechanized brigade from Bila Tserkva, the 79th airmobile and 24th mechanized brigades of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine were encircled.
As Navigator reported, yesterday the National Security and Defense Council announced that as of July 16, heavy fighting was taking place in the area of the city of Amvrosievka, the village of Marynivka (Donetsk region) and the village of Izvarino (Luhansk region). However, the number of dead and wounded could not be clarified.
At the same time, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov did not confirm the information that in the area of the Izvarino border checkpoint the military were surrounded and were losing ground.
