“The period of forced stagnation associated with the impossibility of updating the ship’s personnel, weapons and equipment has passed. This page has not been torn out of history, but has already been turned. For the first time in a long time, we have included more than 10 of the latest boats and support vessels in the fleet within one calendar year and are expecting the arrival of surface and submarine ships, modern aircraft and equipment of coastal forces built for the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk. In the near future, the process of rearmament of the fleet and improvement of the basing system will continue and we will celebrate the next Navy Day in a new capacity,” says the admiral.
Let us recall that Ukraine previously blocked the transfer of new Russian ships to Crimea. Kyiv’s strategy was for the ship’s personnel in Sevastopol to gradually become obsolete and decommissioned, thus squeezing out the Russian base from the peninsula.
