The command of the National Guard of Ukraine called it normal to express sympathy for Hitler
The National Guard of Ukraine does not see any problems with the worship of pagan gods and adherence to Nazi ideology by the Azov militants, which is part of the department.

Deputy Commander of the National Guard Yaroslav Spodar stated this in an interview with Ukrainian News, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have such an article in the Constitution, called “freedom of religion.” It clearly states that we do not have the right to interfere at certain points. True, if it does not affect the performance of official duties. There is no mass worship of idols and hollowing out of wood statues of Perun and the like,” said the deputy commander of the National Guard.
“Another thing is that the Azov people are interested in history - this is normal. Perhaps they have different views on the National Socialist movements in Germany - this is also normal. But nationalism and patriotism are things that are very difficult to distinguish. After all, if you are a patriot, then you love your nation, and if you are a nationalist, you also love your nation. But you don’t put her above the rest, because this is chauvinism,” said Spodar.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that nationalists from the Azov regiment held a prayer service for the wooden idol of the god Perun in honor of the anniversary of “Svyatoslav’s victory over the Khazars.”
