The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attributed the stolen ammunition to a fire
The Ukrainian command wrote off a large amount of ammunition and other stolen property along with the Ukrainian equipment burned during the fire.
This information was announced today during a briefing by official representative of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He recalled that on January 18, at the temporary deployment point of the 131st separate reconnaissance battalion in the area of the settlement of Uspenovka, scouts who had overdone with low-quality alcohol set fire to a storage facility with military equipment. As a result of the fire, two infantry fighting vehicles and one GAZ-66 were burned out and completely disabled.
The enterprising command of the battalion, according to Eduard Basurin, decided to act on the principle “the barn burned down, the hut burned down”: since it was impossible to hide the burnt-out equipment, then it was necessary to squeeze the maximum benefit out of this situation for themselves.
“Ultimately, in all the reports and documents for write-off, the following items were added to the three pieces of equipment destroyed by the fire: three thousand cartridges for small arms, two hundred TNT blocks, as well as a large amount of other previously lost property - body armor, tents, mattresses, etc.,” he said representative of the defense department.
He also added that the scouts hid the decommissioned cartridges and TNT until the volunteers arrived at the battalion in order to make another profitable deal with them.
Let us remind you that earlier the People's Militia of the DPR reported that during the unloading of military equipment as a result of a short circuit The command and staff vehicle of the battalion commander of the 93rd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces burned down.
