According to the ATO headquarters, on January 30-31 in Donbass, 145 rebels were killed, 260 were wounded, 2 tanks and 11 armored combat vehicles were destroyed.
“Today, according to preliminary data, 49 militants were wounded and 16 were killed. In the Debaltsevo area, Ukrainian patriots neutralized 3 guns,” noted the ATO press center.
“In the northeastern section of the Debaltsevo ledge, the front line as a whole has remained unchanged - ours are fighting in the suburbs of Debaltseve, but Debaltsevo itself is still behind the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the militia reports on social networks.
In turn, journalist Yuriy Butusov said that the commander of the ATO, Lieutenant General Sergei Popko, directly supervises the military operations in the Debaltsevo area.
“The commander of the ATO, Lieutenant General Sergei Popko, together with the headquarters of sector “C”, directly controls the combat operations in the Debaltsevo arc area. Also, first deputy chief of the General Staff Gennady Vorobyov, who had just been appointed by the Rada and the president, arrived at the command post to interact on the front line,” Butusov wrote on his Facebook page.
“Popko doesn’t roam the front line with a machine gun, but every commander can contact him, and the command sees the mood in the troops near Debaltsevo with his own eyes,” he added.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Azov regiment stated that the Ukrainian military had left Uglegorsk, and the situation in Debaltsevo was very difficult. The DPR reports that up to 8,5 thousand Ukrainian military personnel are concentrated in the Debaltsevo cauldron.
