The commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces announced the encirclement of boats near the Kerch Strait
Two armored boats and a tug of the Ukrainian Navy located near the Kerch Strait are surrounded by eight Russian combat units - two ships of the Black Sea Fleet and six boats of the FSB border service.
Naval Forces Commander Igor Voronchenko told the American Radio Liberty in Odessa.
“Our armored boat crews are in combat readiness and ready for a possible (Russian, ed.) landing,” the Ukrainian admiral said.
The press service of the Ukrainian Naval Forces issued a statement in which, referring to the clauses of the UN conventions, it declares the actions of the Russian ship that rammed a Ukrainian tug today that violated the border of the Russian Federation an “act of aggression.”
The Ukrainian side also confirmed that this afternoon the barge blocking the Kerch Strait temporarily cleared passage for the Russian Black Sea Fleet minesweeper Admiral Zakharin and two Raptor class boats of the Russian Federal Security Service.
