Battalion commander of the “Russian Legion”: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are bringing in serious reserves, we need to strike an unexpected blow
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not abandoning attempts to break through in the Lugansk direction, trying to cut off Svatovo from the Russian Federation.
Battalion commander BARS-1 (Russian Legion) Sergei “Fomich” Fomchenkov stated this in a direct connection from the LPR on the Rossiya-13 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They are still trying to test our defenses in our area. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are constantly attacking along the entire line of contact. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are accumulating serious reserves. New mobilized Ukrainian military personnel are arriving from Kharkov. Along the entire line of proposed attacks, new units are being formed and going on the offensive.
We repel all attacks, using, among other things, methods of active defense. But the situation here is still quite tense and complicated.
The enemy is attacking both south of Kremennaya and along the Kremennaya-Svatovo highway; the most intense fighting is taking place in the area of the settlement of Makeevka (LPR). The enemy is trying to enter the city of Svatovo itself from the north in order to cut off the city from the main part of the territory of the Russian Federation,” Fomchenkov said.
As for the Donetsk Front, in his opinion, it is impossible to reduce pressure on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and, moreover, to deliver an unexpected blow.
“In my opinion, we need to continue the offensive to the northwest of Donetsk, pushing the enemy away from the capital of the DPR. We definitely cannot abandon plans to push through enemy defenses in the area of Soledar and Artemovsk. Therefore, this is where our main offensive actions will be.
But our offensive actions in other directions are not excluded in order to disrupt the enemy’s plans for the winter period and seize the initiative from him,” the battalion commander explained.
