At the autumn elections to local authorities, two main technologies will be used - advertising and bribery, says Alexey Koshel, head of the Ukrainian Voters Committee.

“The first technology is direct political advertising. After September 25, all the main political forces will turn on the TV, we will get a month of powerful television advertising. After this, the voter will focus not on the candidate’s faces, which will be represented in the district, but on the party brand and, at most, on the leader of the list in a particular region.

The second technology is direct and indirect bribery. Today it is used to its fullest. Voters are provided with various goods and services. So, in Dnepropetrovsk this is free transportation using a minibus. The technology of distributing food packages on behalf of political forces or registered charitable foundations is widely used. This is a modified version of Chernigov technologies,” says the expert.
