The communist congratulated Lukashenko, declaring human rights “hypocritical cliches”
Moscow City Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Elena Shuvalova published congratulations on the victory of Alexander Lukashenko, which is of interest against the backdrop of the ongoing arrest of 33 Russian citizens - members of the Donbass militia, as well as mass detentions of Russian journalists covering the unrest in Minsk.
“Dear Alexander Grigorievich! I congratulate you on your well-deserved victory, and the people of Belarus on the continued opportunity to live peacefully and work fruitfully under the skies of an independent country, raise children, receive an education, and develop healthcare. I remember well how in the early 90s in Russia too many people succumbed to hypocritical cliches about supposed human rights, just as now some in Belarus succumb to the hammered cliches about the abstract “change of power.” The devastation that followed, the destruction of industry and Russian villages, unemployment and bloodshed, sobered many in Russia. Slogans are worthless if they are not backed by an economic policy in the interests of working people, which does not allow the people’s property acquired over many years to be snatched away – mainly outside the cordon – into the pockets of businessmen and speculators,” Shuvalova wrote.
Thank you!
